North-West Resistance - 1885 Métis battle flag

$19.00 - $23.00

Inspired by charismatic leader Louis Riel and commanded by legendary warrior Gabriel Dumont, the Métis-led North-West resistance of 1885 was the most determined Indigenous armed struggle against colonial dispossession and disruption of the communal economy in modern Canadian history. Under the banner of the white wolf, emblazoned with the words “Dieu, autels, surtout liberté,” the Indigenous coalition won important victories over colonialist punitive forces at Duck Lake, Frog Lake, Fish Creek, Cut Knife, and initially, Frenchman’s Butte.

A portion of the proceeds will go to social movements supporting Indigenous self-determination in the Americas.

Blue, men's, 100% ring-spun cotton, short-sleeved t-shirt with the battle standard of Saskatchewan's Métis warriors printed on the front.
